Beyond the ordinary
Oymyakon is a rural locality in Sakha Republic, Russia, on the Kolyma Highway. With an extreme subarctic climate, Oymyakon is known as the Northern Pole of Cold and it is the world coldest village with a temperature record of -71,2ºC. The ground is permanently frozen (continuous permafrost).
The route to Oymyakon will take over 30.000 km from Pamplona,
enduring temperatures of up to minus 60ºC or lower, in a solo ride mode
and without logistic support. Oymyakon is on the road of Bones was
recognized as one of the most difficult and dangerous roads in the world.
The main hazard is the extreme temperature. Besides this, I can get to know Siberian wolves and bears. You will see ghost towns, abandoned Gulag camps, deserted places where you will not meet a single person for hundreds of kilometers.
